Kensington Golf & Country Club Unveils Major Upgrades and Expansion of Club Amenities

NAPLES, FL. – As it marks 30 years of memories, Kensington Golf & Country Club is pleased to announce that it is launching a major clubhouse renovation and expansion project which will provide its members with a completely enhanced club experience.
The construction project builds upon other major improvements in recent years, including the 2019 addition of Brighton Pointe, a 150-seat outdoor dining area; an updated fitness center in 2020; and a complete restoration of the championship golf course in 2021.
“This exciting project is a continuation of our master planning process initiated five years ago with the addition of expanded outdoor casual dining, restored golf course, bocce and pickleball,” said David Krzywonos, General Manager of Kensington Golf & Country Club. “These enhancements position us for the future and ensure that Kensington Golf & Country Club remains one of the most desirable member-owned clubs in Naples.”
This latest construction project, designed by well-known Naples architect David Humphrey and built by general contractor Curran Young Construction, will commence in April and will improve areas both inside and outside of the original 30-year-old building.
Plans call for the interior of the building to be completely gutted and replaced with an expansive lobby providing dramatic “see-though” views of the golf course as members come in through the front entry. The lobby will feature a more contemporary ambiance provided by the award-winning interior design firm of Wegman Design Group of Naples.
Additional covered dining space will also be provided, enabling the club to accommodate larger club events and private functions like weddings and non-profit galas of up to 330 people. To handle these larger groups, the kitchen is being expanded and fully updated with modern equipment. An expanded pro shop will also be added next to the clubhouse.
Outside the clubhouse building, plans call for a completely updated resort pool with expanded lounge spaces and food and beverage service. In addition, six new pickleball courts will be installed on property to accommodate the growing interest in this sport.
“Each of these projects was highly desired by our members and will ensure that we maintain our status as one of the best small clubs in Southwest Florida,” Krzywonos said.
In addition to the enhanced member amenities, the Maintenance Building will be fully renovated with modernized facilities. These include updated office/meeting space, a new employee break room with restrooms and showers, and an expanded indoor storage area.
Centrally located on 380 acres off Pine Ridge Road just east of Airport-Pulling Road, Kensington Golf & Country Club is one of the area’s more established clubs having opened in 1994. The club features a totally renovated par-71 Robert Trent Jones, Jr. championship golf course that has hosted several U.S. Open and Florida State Qualifiers.
